25 Years Of Julie Wylie Music

3 December // 10:30-11:30am // Christchurch Transitional Cathedral

On December the 3rd Julie Wylie celebrates 25 years of making music with the children of Christchurch. During that time Julie has worked with hundreds of children, many who have made music their career. This will be a beautiful Christmas programme for children and their parents. Musical Parenting arose from Julie’s work with children 0-8 years and their families in Musical Play classes in 1990 and as a Music Advisor in Early Childhood for the Ministry of Education. Parents became so interested in the Music  training and my music courses, that the Ministry of Education extended the programme. Dr. Patricia Champion invited Julie to establish Musical Parenting as a vital part of the Champion Centre Early Intervention Programme in 1991. Da Vinci Mechanics

Explore the mind of artist, scientist and original Renaissance Man Leonardo da Vinci in this award-winning interactive exhibition at Canterbury Museum.  On loan from the Museum of Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, Italy, Da Vinci Mechanics contains over 60 models. His iconic inventions include the bicycle, the scuba suit, spring powered car, hang glider and the aerial screw, a precursor to the modern helicopter. The exhibition features flying machines, nautical, hydraulic and architectural innovations, ground- breaking applications of civil engineering and incredible war machines, recreated from his drawings over a number of years by craftsmen in Florence. Special Exhibition Hall. Free.
