Come along to the Cashmere Club on Colombo St between 10am and 1pm on Saturday for bargains galore! $2 entry per adult gets you in the door to purchase everything you need for your little ones. Either help the planet by buying second hand, or splash out by buying a few new items for your child. Clothing, toys, books, bedding, feeding gear .. you name it, you’ll find it! Mary Poppins

Addington Fun Fair

21 November //11-3pm // Church Square

The Addington Fun Fair will take place on… Saturday 21st November in Church Square from 11-3pm. Rain day is Sunday 22nd November from 12.30-4pm. Stalls, home-made carnival games, pony rides, a bouncy castle, water ratz, races, Devonshire Teas, ethnic food and more will fill the tree-filled square. 30+ stalls will include baking, local community groups, white elephant, books, crafts and more. This year there’s a new element to the fair, a Kids Market. Facebook Event: Click here


2015 Canterbury Skateboarding Regionals

21 November // Washington Way

Watch Canterbury’s finest skateboarders battle it out at the newly upgraded Washington Skate Park for qualification to the NZ Skate Nationals. Divisions include 13 & Under, 16 & Under, Open Mens and Womans with over $3000 worth of prizes up for grabs! $10 Entry fee for competitors / Free to watch. Registration from 10.00am, Competition Starts 11.00am and will Finish around 4.00pm. For more info visit


 Christmas Market Ladies Night

Ladies, if you’re looking for a little time out for yourselves that combines a bit of pampering with getting some of the Christmas shopping done, then come along to Halswell School’s Christmas Market Ladies Night on Thursday 26 November from 7pm-9pm. We have a range of stalls selling everything from gorgeous crafts to beauty products to jewellery and children’s presents so if you’re looking for Christmas gifts that are a little bit different or just simply for some time off to relax don’t miss this event. The market will be held in the new school hall so will go ahead regardless of the weather. Barista made coffee, tea, desserts and traditional Christmas treats will be available for those needing a break from shopping and all our stallholders have generously donated one of their products towards a raffle so there are some great hampers to be won! Da Vinci Mechanics

28 November – 8 February // 9am // Canterbury Museum

Explore the mind of artist, scientist and original Renaissance Man Leonardo da Vinci in this award-winning interactive exhibition at Canterbury Museum.  On loan from the Museum of Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, Italy, Da Vinci Mechanics contains over 60 models. His iconic inventions include the bicycle, the scuba suit, spring powered car, hang glider and the aerial screw, a precursor to the modern helicopter. The exhibition features flying machines, nautical, hydraulic and architectural innovations, ground- breaking applications of civil engineering and incredible war machines, recreated from his drawings over a number of years by craftsmen in Florence. Special Exhibition Hall. Free.
