Bookarama 2015

19 – 22 November // see times below // Addington Racecourse

Make a note in your diary today – the Rotary Club of Cashmere is once again raising funds for charity with another Bookarama at the Addington Racecourse from Thursday 19 November to Sunday 22 November 2015. There will be a huge number of books of all sorts plus CDs, DVDs, Jigsaws, Records, and Art up for sale. Prices start at just $1 so bring a big bag along with you to take all those bargains home. We are also on the lookout for books and other items to sell and so if you would like to donate some please drop them off at one of our collection points around the town. You can find the nearest collection point to you by going to our website www.rotaryinfo.org.nz. The opening hours are Thursday 12pm to 8pm, Friday 9am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 2pm. New books will be added every day and everything will be half price or less on Sunday. Official Website: Click here

Mary Poppins

Addington Fun Fair

21 November //11-3pm // Church Square

The Addington Fun Fair will take place on… Saturday 21st November in Church Square from 11-3pm. Rain day is Sunday 22nd November from 12.30-4pm. Stalls, home-made carnival games, pony rides, a bouncy castle, water ratz, races, Devonshire Teas, ethnic food and more will fill the tree-filled square. 30+ stalls will include baking, local community groups, white elephant, books, crafts and more. This year we have added a new element to the fair, a Kids Market. Facebook Event: Click here

 

2015 Canterbury Skateboarding Regionals

21 November // Washington Way

Watch Canterbury’s finest skateboarders battle it out at the newly upgraded Washington Skate Park for qualification to the NZ Skate Nationals. Divisions include 13 & Under, 16 & Under, Open Mens and Womans with over $3000 worth of prizes up for grabs! $10 Entry fee for competitors / Free to watch. Registration from 10.00am, Competition Starts 11.00am and will Finish around 4.00pm. For more info visit www.skateskool.co.nz

 

SCAPE 8 New Intimacies

A Public Art Walkway to help people create new memories and re-connect with the changed Christchurch landscape. SCAPE 8 New Intimacies, curated by Rob Garrett. The Christchurch Biennial will draw on the projects of both local and International artists; Antony Gormley, Pauline Rhodes, Hannah Kidd, Nathan Pohio, Fiona Jack, Peter Atkins and Judy Millar. The artists works will be accompanied by public participation project #ThatTimeYouHelped Our Portraits of People Reaching Out to One Another. These projects shape a Public Art Walkway, alongside a programme of artist talks, guided tours and public workshops throughout the six weeks of SCAPE 8 New Intimacies. SCAPE 8 Art Central Hub: Corner of Gloucester & Colombo Streets. The Public Art Walkway is mapped as a half hour walk to see the works or take as longer and enjoy the activities and atmosphere along the way. 

 

Banks Peninsula Walking Festival

Weekends during 7-29 November // 9am // Banks Peninsula

We have curated a diverse programme of quality walking experiences, all lead by experienced volunteer guides who have a passion for the land, ecology and communities of the peninsula.
