Christchurch Food Truck Market @ The Commons

The Christchurch Food Trucks are having their final Winter Fling on Friday September 4th, 4-9pm. Entertainment, Music, Games & of course… Food! Get down to the Commons, on the First Friday of the month to get your fix of some of Christchurch’s top food vendors. Brought to you by Gap Filler & The Commons. Friday Night Food Trucks was started by CCC in Cathedral Square across Summer 2014-15 as a pilot project. To keep it going, Gap Filler hosted a Winter season of the event, Monthly, at The Commons – a site we oversee and manage day-to-day. Scarecrow Saturday

5 September // 10am – 1pm // on green beside Hillyers Cafe, Gerald St. Lincoln

Come join in the fun at this annual Lincoln event. Perfect opportunity to get creative as a family to produce a prize winning scarecrow creation. Some fantastic prizes to be won. Bring along your scarecrow between 9.30 – 10 am for registration. Winners announced at midday. New category this year includes your on site creation – see how inventive you can be making a SCARECROW against the clock between 10 – 11.30 (with items supplied by the market). Judging begins at 11.30 am. There will be live music throughout the event to enjoy PLUS all the great selection of genuine locally grown fruit/veg/plants, award winning produce inc. preserves, cheeses, artisan baking, honey, hazelnuts…. and diverse range of handcrafted gifts – perfect time to start getting your Xmas shopping in early!! Obstacle & Cross County Race

13 September // 10am – 3pm // Dudley Park, Rangiora

An exciting race for 2 – 8 year olds. Families will enjoy a fun, healthy and community building event, complete with awesome activities, entertainment and food vendors. Racing will start at 10am for the 2 year old competitors, with other ages raced in waves following this. The key focuses are fun, participation, motor skill development, confidence and fostering sportsmanship skills in a positive, challenging and supportive environment. This event is run in conjunction with Tiddlers Multisport Trust. $10 pp if registered & paid before 9 Sept, otherwise $15. Woodend School Fair

13 September // 10am – 2pm // Woodend School

There is so much on offer at this years Woodend School Fair it should not be missed! This year our School Fair is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet! More stalls, more food, more attractions, more fun for the whole family. We are doing our Giant Prize Draw again called the ‘Whats in the Highheel’ where people can buy $2 tickets to get in the draw to win 1 of 20 prizes. We have a signed All Blacks jersey, surfboard, vouchers, cash, hair styling, clothing and so much more all kindly donated by families and businesses in our local community. We will have our iconic ‘Woodend Schools got Talent’ Show at lunchtime where pupils from Woodend School will compete for cash prizes.
