New Zealand Music Month 2015 : Pandemonium 

17 May  // 12 – 1pm // Sound Garden, Peterborough St

Pandemonium Percussion is coming back to perform again in the Sound Garden during NZ Music Month Their Junk Jam show will feature music from New Zealand and the Pacific and will inspire you – the audience to play along on instruments at the Sound Garden and recycled pieces of ‘junk’. This is a fun and participatory event for all the family. “Junk Jam is our interactive show promoting the message of music making, making your own instruments and recycling. New Zealand International Film Festival 2015 : NZIFF Autumn Events: Pinocchio (G)

Wacky Wednesday and Funday Friday!

Wednesdays & Fridays  // 4 = 5:30pm // Imagination Station, 113 Worcester Street

Too rainy for sports? Need a break? Register the kids for Wacky Wednesday and Funday Friday! Drop the kids off at 4 and either hang around the enjoy our free wifi and coffee delivery, or head off to get things done. We will take take of everything! The kids will be entertained by our skilled Fun Team – providing them with building challenges, team work competitions and brain bending brick games. Registration includes a Mrs Higgins cookie, a drink and 90 minutes of fun! 2015 Ice Hockey Exhibition Cup

First pre season game for the NZIHL Champions, Canterbury Red Devils. Come along and see the fastest game in the world.

Sri Chinmoy 10km, 5km and Children’s 2.5km Races in Sumner

24 May  // 9am // Esplanade

Location: Registration area is at the far end of Sumner Esplanade by the clock tower. Course: a flat accurate 2.5km out-and-back along the lovely oceanside esplanade. Registration opens at 8:15am. Event Options: 10km (15yrs+), 5km (13yrs +), 2.5km (under 15 yrs). All races are open. Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each event. A post-race breakfast provided by The Lotus-Heart Restaurant is available from 9:30am. The meal is complimentary for all participants. Supporters are welcome to purchase breakfast for $7. Results, photos and a race report will be posted online after the event. The international Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team is a non-profit organisation conducted by the Sri Chinmoy Centre. New Zealand Music Month 2015

Firmly entrenched as part of our cultural landscape, over the course of the last decade the month of May has gone from a period of encouraging radio to play more local tunes, to a 31 day celebration of homegrown talent across the length and breadth of the country. NZ Music Month is a promotion run by the NZ Music Commission that takes place each May, in association with other organisations including NZ On Air, Recorded Music New Zealand, APRA, The Music Managers Forum, and the Radio Broadcasters Association.
