Motukarara Fireworks Display 

8th November // Gates open at 5:30pm  // Motukarara Domain, Park Road

Gates will open at 5:30pm and the display will be at approximately 9pm. Entrance fee is $20 per car of 5, $5 per person thereafter. Walk-ins $5 each Live music, lolly scramble, bouncy castle, pony rides, sausage/bacon sizzle, espresso coffee, cold drinks and ice cream, hotdogs and chips, candy floss, free hay rides. Postponement date is Saturday 15th November.  For any enquires phone: Fiona 325 2300 or Adele 329 7818.

 

2014 Cheapskates Canterbury Skateboarding Regionals

Banks Peninsula Walking Festival

Over forty exciting walks make up the Banks Peninsula Walking Festival – this year running over four weekends in November. Highlights include the new Rod Donald hut, Onawe Pa, and the family overnight camp on Quail Island. Book now to avoid missing out.  All walks are lead by experienced volunteer guides. CTK School Fair

9th November // 12-4pm  // Christ the King School, 92 Greers Rd, Burnside

Held every two years, the CTK School Fair is their biggest fundraising event, and money raised goes towards the landscaping of the school grounds, following extensive earthquake repairs and drainage work, and the development of a new recreational space for the kids. Look out for – craft, baking, sweets & fudge, plants, produce, clothes, books, toys, raffles, silent auction, mystery bottle, $1 coin toss, face painting, lucky dips, kids entertainment area, live music, café and a range of hot food. Rutherford – Full Steam Ahead!

In 1935, when only eight-years-old, Patrick Fowler was given a model locomotive as a surprise gift after taking part in a train-naming ceremony at St Pancras Railway Station, London. The train was named after his world-famous grandfather, New Zealand physicist and chemist Ernest Rutherford. See it at the Canterbury Museum. Contact Phone: 366 5000.
