Art Exhibition – Mt Pleasant School

12-13th September // Mt Pleasant School, 82 Major Hornbrook Road, Mt Pleasant

Starts with an opening night auction (12th September, 6-9pm) and cost $10. Come and view over 320 pieces of art work from over 45 artists well known artists including featured artist Linelle Stacy. Orienteering Schools Festival

Paws in the Park

14th September // 11am – 3pm //  The Groynes

Join SPCA Canterbury for a fun family day out with your four-legged friend at Paws in the Park on Sunday 14 September from 11am to 3pm at The Groynes. Stalls and entertainment include: dog agility display, dog behavious presentation, pampered pooch competition, ‘Five Freedoms’ dog walk, dog massage clinic, face painting, SPCA stall including OpShop sale tent and much more! Woodend School Fair

14th September // 10am – 2pm //  Woodend School, School Road

There is so much on offer at this years Woodend School Fair it should not be missed! This year’s ‘fun at the fair’ includes live entertainment, Woodend School’s Got Talent show, 82 ft zipline (flying fox), rifle range, bumper boats, face painting, Fire Brigade display, pony rides, bouncy castles including a large inflatable slide, 4 in 1 bungy, chocolate wheel, mystery bottles and our amazing ‘what’s in the handbag prize draw?’ And add to that a large number of stalls selling all sorts of things – new and used, A great place to buy some plants for the garden or some pressies for Christmas.


South Brighton Kids Market

A spring extravaganza! Come and join the fun at the annual family-friendly spring fundraiser. Yummy food & coffee. A craft market with everything imaginable for children. Washington Bowl Jam 2014

The Cheapskates Skate Skool is proud to announce the 1st official Bowl Jam at the recently upgraded Washington Skate Park mecca on Moorehouse avenue will be going down on Saturday 20th September!! All are welcome to join in on the open jam session and then register on the day to be in to win some epic prizes kindly donated by our legendary sponsors in a jam format competition. Market Day

Time After Time Field Day

20th September // 10am //  West Melton; Opposite 454 West Melton Road

As part of the 150th Celebrations for West Melton we are holding the Time After Time Field Day. An event held on farmland opposite 454 West melton Road. There will be a heritage village depicting life in West Melton in the late 1800’s, displays of blade shearing, butter and cheese making, historical sawmill, pump organs, spinning and weaving and a blacksmith. Story Tellers and historians describing the history of the plains on our custom built colonial stage. There will be Traction Engines, working Clydesdale and vintage tractors taking part in a ploughing competition. Redcliffs School Fair

21st September // 11am // Van Asch on Truro Street, Sumner

This year the Redcliffs School fair will again be held at the lovely Van Asch Deaf Education Centre on Truro Street at the back of Sumner. Please join from 11am for fun for the whole family. The day’s attractions include rides, food stalls, good old-fashioned sideshows, crafts, sweets, cakes, toys, clothes and books and the white-elephant is back! The fair is one of the biggest school fairs in Christchurch; an event greatly looked forward to by the local community. Platform Arts Festival

The University of Canterbury will celebrate its fifth Platform Arts Festival from 11-21 September. All events are based on UC’s Ilam campus and will be free to the public.
