TV2 KidsFest

MORE FM Lantern Parade

5th July // 4:30 – 6:30pm //  Central City, Christchurch

Come and celebrate the launch of TV2 KidsFest 2014 with the More FM Lantern Parade! Bring your own lantern, lights, or anything that glows! This year the parade will begin from outside the Christchurch City Council building on Worcester Boulevard with an exciting finish featuring performances and a surprise finale in Cathedral Square. Check for lantern making workshops in the last 2 weeks of June on kidsfest.co.nz

4.30pm- Parade to assemble outside the Christchurch City Council building on Worcester Boulevard. 5.30pm- Parade will begin, leaving from Worcester Boulevard and arriving in Cathedral Square, where an exciting finale to the parade will commence. 6.30pm- Event will finish. Cool Stuff (Kids Fest Mascot) has disappeared – has he been dog napped or something more sinister… you are the detective to find out! Tothill’s Mazes Kidsfest

Tothill’s Mazes is proud to be a part of Kidsfest these July holidays! The Kidsfest Mascot, Coolstuff, has travelled around the world and ended up at Tothill’s Mazes but he has got lost in the Kiwiana themed wooden maze. Come and help find Coolstuff in our maze! We have special Kidsfest entry prices and kids get to take home a small treat from Tothill’s Mazes. Open 7 days a week during the school holidays 10am-5pm. Website: www.tothills.com

 

Mid-Winter Second Hand Book Fair

5th July // 10-1pm // On Green beside Hillyers Cafe, Gerald St. LINCOLN

Come and grab a bargain to read over the winter months, meet some talented local authors including Lincoln writers Billy Barnes, Lincoln University’s Heritage writer Ian Collins, Janet Wainscott, Clare Erasmus – author of the Kia Kaha Children Books and other writers. A great opportunity to buy some signed copies of their books and hear what inspires them. Plus simply enjoy the atmosphere of one of our special winter markets with roast chestnuts, mulled fruit drinks, award winning produce, confectionery, baking and great gift ideas including some cosy winter woollies to help keep you toasty warm. Night at the Museum!

8, 10, 15, 17 July // 6-8pm // Canterbury Museum

See bedtime stories come to life in our very own night at the Museum!  Grab your flashlight and take an after-hours walk around the dimly lit galleries of Canterbury Museum. You never know what you’ll discover! Canterbury Museum is a mobility accessible location. Bring a torch and dress in costume if you fancy! Free event. Donations appreciated. The Emperor’s New Clothes

We all like to look good, however the Emperor likes to look great. But when he fires his tailor and has nothing to wear, he turns to two scoundrels to plan his new wardrobe. Kaiapoi Adventre Race

Trivia, mental and physical challenges, and awesome adventures. Record each adventure on a digital device.
