The Early Early Late Show – with The Court Jesters

Tales@The Pallet Pavilion

Tales @ The Pallet Pavilion is Christchurch’s only story festival for all ages – adults and children – and using multiple story arts. There will be storytelling, books, writing, poetry, creative movement and dance, music and crafts. Come down and enjoy a rich variety of performances, workshops and displays from various cultural backgrounds. Friday’s opening night celebrates culture through story, spoken word, music and dance. Try your hand at a wide variety of workshops on Saturday, followed by a Writers’ Panel and readings. Then join in with the night’s festivites of Morris Dancing, Random Acts of Music and an Open Mic. Sunday is family fun day with fun and interactive story and musical performances and workshops for young, teens and adults. This is your last chance to experience Christchurch’s story talent in such a unique way as The Gap Filler Pallet Pavilion is coming down in April! The Hawarden A&P Show

A great day out in the country…something for everyone. Showcasing the best of the region from agricultural displays, equestrian, sheep, cattle, poultry,cooking, photography to an array of stalls, local food to live music and a community barbecue. The village green “Our Fare” section of the show will be bigger and better this year – further promoting our natural resources, Dr Steve Wratton, Professor of Ecology at Lincoln University will talk about making the most of a sustainable vegetable garden – Dr John O’Malley of the Alpha Omega Clinic will present his vast experience on healthcare and how to better look after ourselves for optimal well-being. The Whittaker’s Big Egg Hunt

Friday 21st March–Tuesday 22nd April 2014

This Easter, you can take part in The Whittaker’s Big Egg Hunt – the first event of its kind in the southern hemisphere which invites the public to find 100 giant eggs created by New Zealand artists and designers, all in support of Starship. The eggs, which will be hidden across Christchurch (as well as Auckland and Wellington) for 33 days, from 21 March to 22 April, have been created by well-known and emerging artists and designers. Thomson Skate Jam

It is with great excitement the Cheapskates Skate Skool presents the 2014 Thomson Skate Jam on Saturday 22nd March. This highly anticipated event is set to deliver some insane skateboarding to the people of Christchurch at the renowned Thomson Bowl of New Brighton. In Good Company

Te Kāhu Park on The Runway, Wigram

This is a great opportunity to get together with your family, friends and neighbours for an afternoon of free entertainment and activities at Te Kāhu Park on The Runway. Inflatable rides, face painting, performances by Olympia Gymnastics and local school groups along with demonstrations by the New Zealand Fire Service and the Christchurch City Council will keep the kids entertained . While a number of food stalls will be on site to keep hunger at bay, as will the free sausage sizzle provided by Ngāi Tahu Property


Summer of Fun events
