Waltham Skate Jam

Get on-board this Summer and Learn to Skate! This is a free event aimed at beginners with free gear hire plus coaching from the friendly Skate Skool team. Little River Summer Festival

The Drum Festival. Little River Campground and Manaia Native Habitat, Okuti Valley. Ice Sports, Give It A Go Day!

Check out the world of ice sports FOR FREE at the Alpine Ice Give-It-A-Go Day! See demonstrations by top local skaters as they showcase their favourite ice sports; Ice Hockey, Speed and Figure  – then get your skates on! This is your chance to get on the ice to try our ice sports with top coaches on hand to assist. Swannanoa Country Fair

Swannanoa Domain, Tram Road (10 mins up Tram Road, opposite Swannanoa School)

With over 130 craft & trade stalls, monster white elephant, lots of kids rides and games, silent auction, petting zoo and a variety of food and drink, it’s a great day of fun and entertainment for the whole family! Only 10 minutes up Tram Road at Swannanoa Domain.  Plenty of free parking across the road at Swannanoa School. Come and have a fun day in the country, relax and be entertained. Rangiora International Children’s Family Funday

Rangiora High School Sports Grounds, East Belt, Rangiora

Bring the whole family down for tons of free family fun, food and live entertainment. Streets Children’s Day 2014

The Streets Children’s Day Community event this year is being hosted at Ferrymead Heritage Park on the 2nd March 2014. The day is all about celebrating children and their many talents. Enjoy the free acitivites that event has to offer such as water walkers, bouncy castles and live performances. Gates will open at 9am and close at 4pm. This is a FREE event for the whole family! Festival of Flowers

“Love Our Garden City” is the theme for our 25th Festival of Flowers, to be held in Cathedral Square in the beautiful Garden City of Christchurch. We are heralding the return to the inner city with this celebration of stunning floral installations, gardens and displays. The Festival launches on Saturday 8th Feb, 10am-2pm with a dynamic opening ceremony which will include live music and entertainment by artists from many cultures. This will a great day out for all. Seaweek 2014

Seaweek is New Zealand’s annual national week about the sea. Hosted by the NZ Association for Environmental Education (NZAEE), Seaweek focuses on learning from the sea. It’s  time for everyone to get to know our ocean, its habitats, characteristics and inhabitants better. Seaweek 2014 will take place from 1-9 March 2014. The theme is “Our fragile, finite taonga – be alert to the fragility of the marine environment and its treasures. Kia mataara! Tiakina te au o te moana, he kōpīpī tōna“. Official Website: seaweek.org.nz


Christchurch Mum’s Gathering!

Come meet up with other mums and kids! Feel free to bring a blanket and your morning tea.

I will have a sign so that you can find us. We usually set up between the playground & pool fence or on the side of the pool away from playground. Feel free to RSVP and we can look out for you. The Science Alive Under 5 Fest

Christchurch Art Gallery’s latest exhibition explores the shape-shifting, experimental and seriously playful work of making art. Artists from near and far test the limits of their materials with morphing pencil sculptures, stretchy paint skins, gravity-defying stacks and videos of exploding paint-balloons. The exhibition is supported by a lively and engaging programme for both children and adults that includes floor talks, workshops and publications.
