New Brighton Christmas Parade

The Annual New Brighton Christmas Parade is moving to the 2nd Saturday in December! Held in New Brighton since 2000 by the New Brighton Project, the Christmas Parade is a highlight of the events calendar in Eastern Christchurch! Christmas Encraftment Market

14 – 15 December // 10am – 3pm

Come give Santa and his elves a run for their money at Christmas Encraftment. This is undoubtedly the best place to shop for all your last minute handmade Christmas prezzies! Over 70 craft stalls of handmade goodness! Food, coffee and sweet treats! Treat yourself or find wonderful gifts for those you love. Cash sales (some stalls will have eftpos). Closest ATM’s in ReStart. The City Mission Christmas Tree will be on display and will be accepting your generous gift donations. Gift wrapping available by donation. ARISE Christmas Production “Lights, Camera, Christmas”

This Christmas ARISE Church presents ‘Lights, Camera, Christmas’ – a spectacular theatrical production for all the family. Jake Lewis is an acclaimed film director who has somehow wound up working on a less-than-inspired movie staring Santa and a bunch of elves. Depressed and wanting to quit, Jake has to somehow find a way to turn this terrible movie into a masterpiece. With over 100 cast and crew of all ages, ‘Lights, Camera, Christmas’ will bring the joy, the fun and the true meaning of Christmas back into your festive season. ARISE Church

 

Carols at Riccarton Bush

Riccarton Bush

A fun family event singing and listening to Christmas Carols while surrounded by native bush. Sunday 15 December at 6.30pm at Riccarton Bush, Christchurch. There is an interactive song and dressing up is encouraged. Come early and bring a picnic tea. Event hosted by Riccarton St James Church and accompanied by Addington Brass and the White Elephant Trust. (if wet the event will be held on Monday 16 December 2013 at 6.30pm). The Nutcracker & Mr Scrooge

Southern Ballet Theatre Presents: The 2013 Christmas Gala Season ‘The Nutcracker’ & ‘Mr Scrooge’. Two classical Christmas stories featuring our ballet, jazz and contemporary students. Lincoln Christmas Twilight Market

Perfect opportunity to buy that extra special unique handcrafted gift  from one of the many local craft stalls – jewellery, hand made clothing, pottery, aprons, bags, soaps, art and cards… Stock up on fresh local produce for over the holiday season – succulent  seasonal veg and fruit, hazelnut products, olive oil, pesto, gourmet sausages and pies, gluten free treats, and delicious pastries. Summer of Fun – Lincoln

A variety of activities from bouncy castles to archery, face painting to balloon animals. The Summer of Fun events will be happening across Greater Christchurch throughout the summer. They are funded by the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Trust (CEAT).
