The Body Festival 2013 – last day

The Body Festival is back for 2013! The Body Festival, Christchurch’s annual festival of dance and physical theatre, is a showcase and celebration of New Zealand’s dancing talent. Ranging from professional shows to amateur productions, the festival covers a variety of enjoyment for all audiences and participators. Focusing on the community aspect of dance, the Body Festival also incorporates a number of workshops and participation events. Find all the events on their website.

 

Rolleston Playcentre Book Fair

13th October // 10am-2pm
Rolleston Playcentre, in the Rolleston Reserve, entrance from Moore Street

Take a Kid Fishing

13th October // Starts at 9am
The Groynes

A great, free, fun morning for children up to 12 years old.  The Isaac Conservation and Wildlife Trust has once more generously donated hundreds of young salmon which will be released into the lakes at the Groynes, along with a small number of very large trout. Bring your family and enjoy a fun kids’ fishing day. No registration or fishing licence necessary (Fish and Game provide a whole-of-site licence for the day). Adults may assist but are not permitted to fish. There will be caravans on site with food and drinks for sale.The morning session is set aside for children 12 years and under, with one lake especially for the under-8s where each child has a short one-on-one session with an expert angler (there is sometimes a queue for this). There will be loan rods and tackle in the morning, and worms and artificial bait too, so don’t worry if you don’t have gear. Contact Phone: 027 295 4299

 

Community Market

Halswell Community Project in conjunction with St Luke’s Church are holding 3 market days in 13th October 2013, 24th November 2013 and 16th February 2014 starting at 2pm and finishing around 5pm. Christchurch Farmers Market – 8th Birthday Party! Have your very own Kid’s food stall! Children have the opportunity to bake or produce their very own unique local product and have the chance to sell to earn some pocket money! Be creative and have fun! Stalls are only $10! And you get to have a stall amongst the usual busy Christchurch Farmers Market. The Market starts at 9am but we ask the stall holders to be there an hour before to set up there stall and make it look fabulous! Kiwiana Spring Festival

Kiwiana Spring Festival is here to bring you Handicraft made by Christchurch City Community, Kiwiana Craft is known throughout the World, fine craftsmanship gives its name the edge people remember it by. This Festival is a family Event and will have many Stalls that you can enjoy with your children. 1 Pair of Jeans Will Be Given Away Hour On the Hour Be There to Win, Special Story Telling for New Book – Mother Earth and the Quakeia Babies will be for Children of all ages 12pm. RebornThreadznThingz will be showcasing Jeanz, Jewelery, Shirts and other things that are Revived, Revamped, Recycled, Refashioned, Restyled, Reused, Remodeled. Community Fair
