Woodend School Fair

Sunday, 15th September // 10 – 3pm
Woodend School Recreation Park

This year promises another super day at the Woodend School Fair. Last year we enjoyed fab weather, a visit from What Now, Zorb balls, Waterwalkers, Giant Inflatable, Double Decker Bus, Car Wrecking and much more… This year promises to be just as great. The school talent show kicks off at 12 noon. Come along for live music, stalls, food, art and craft, face painting… Enter the treasure hunt, paintball the principal. Vegetarian Expo

Sunday, 15th September // 10 – 4:30pm
Canterbury Horticultural Centre, 57 Riccarton Ave

There will be stalls, shopping, workshops, cookery demonstrations (also suitable for gluten free), a kids’ zone and bouncy castle, veg sausage sizzle, string quartet music, and lots of great vegetarian food. Christchurch Arts Festival

22nd August – 22nd September // various times/places 

Come and celebrate the best of Christchurch, the best of  New Zealand and the best international shows we could bring. Find the family friendly events listed here. They’ve kept prices low,  some events are free, some for adults and some for family.

 

South Brighton Playcentre Spring Kids Market

Saturday, 21st September // 10 – 2pm
South Brighton Playcentre, 72 Beatty Street

Come one, come all. Join the fun of the South Brighton Playcentre Spring Kids Market. Great food & coffee, quality 2nd hand goods, stalls, fantastic gala games, prizes, bouncy castles, pony rides, face painting, the Natural Magic Pirates and the amazing Ali Harper. A spring extravaganza with everything imaginable for children! Note: There is a detour in place over Bridge Street Bridge – so drive via Pages Road Bridge.

Te Whare Maire O Nga Puna Werewere

Monday 9th–Friday 27th September // 11am – 3pm
Linwood Community Arts Centre, cnr Worcester St & Stanmore Rd

Te Whare Maire O Nga Puna Werewere is an art festival showcasing contemporary and traditional Maori art and cultural activities. There are Maori art and culture workshops throughout the festival. On Tuesdays (10th, 17th, 24th September) and Thursdays (12th, 19th September) from 5.30-7pm all of the following are offered: Poi making; Poi actions; Harakeke Putiputi (flax flowers); Stick & string games; Kapa Haka. $2. On Fridays (13th, 20th, 27th September) from 6.30-8.30pm Waiata: Whare Tamanui. Thursday September 26 at 5.30pm is a concert night, and to view the art and crafts produced at the various workshops.
