Selwyn School of Dance Sleeping Beauty

The Tea House Cafe & Restaurant and Selwyn School of Dance present the classical fairytale ballet “Sleeping Beauty” at Burnside High Schools Aurora Centre on the 15th June 2013. With 120 students from Selwyn School of Dance and 100’s of hours sewing beautiful costumes, Sleeping Beauty promises to be a stunning show. Please be seated 15 minutes prior to shows starting. Books Before Bedtime Pajama Party

Prepare to celebrate mid winter, matariki and the winter solstice with us at the spectacular Lyttelton Harbour Festival of Lights.With events over 4 days including a massive street party on Friday 20th June, the Festival of Lights will brighten up your winter and warm your heart.Other events you can expect to see in the programme include wine tasting, a photography competition, film night, buskers, art exhibitions, amazing food, heaps of great music and of course a brilliant fireworks display.Lyttelton residents are invited to light up their homes (and are in to win great prizes), children can take part in a costume parade and there might even be a roller disco. 10 – 10:30am Tippy Toe Toddlers – Dance class for kids walking to 3 – a great introduction to dance for your little one, using song and guided exercises to explore movement. Copying and exploring how your little one wants to move are the focus of this class, allowing mum/dad or guardian time to join in or sit back and watch their creativity. 30 min, Gold coin donation

10:45 – 11:30am Petite Feet Dance Class for 3&4 Year olds – using song and copying, kids get to explore how their bodies move, how they want to dance, welcoming their ideas and learning while playing with dance. 7th Lincoln Multicultural Festival

Lincoln Multicultural Festival is back! The Rotary Club of Lincoln is organising 7th Lincoln Multicultural Festival to showcase art, craftwork, music, dance, and food from local diverse nationalities. There has been a significant increase in participation and crowd attendance since the inaugural event held in 2004. What a great opportunity for Lincoln, Christchurch and Canterbury at large to enjoy the arts, crafts, music and food that many of those cultures now offer us.
